- Profile & content: messages you send to the AI coach, challenges you describe, suggestions, reviews, and any preferences you set.
- Payment data: when you subscribe or purchase credits, payments are processed by our payment provider (Mollie). We do not store your full card details on our servers.
- Communications: information you provide when you contact us or sign up for emails.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & device data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and interactions, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Cookies: see Section 7 below.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process your personal data to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including generating your profile, reports, and AI coaching responses;
- Create and manage your account and process payments, subscriptions, and credits;
- Personalize your experience and improve our products and methodology;
- Communicate with you, including transactional emails and, with your consent, marketing;
- Maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the Service you have requested.
- Consent: for marketing communications, non-essential cookies, and any processing of special category data (see below). You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, improve, and promote our Service, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws.
Sensitive data note: Our assessment produces psychological insights about you. To the extent any information you provide is treated as special category data under the GDPR, we process it only with your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to take the assessment and use the Service.
4. AI Processing
We use third-party artificial intelligence providers to generate reports and coaching responses. Relevant profile information may be sent to these providers solely to generate your content. We do not permit them to use your data to train their models where contractually avoidable, and we share only what is necessary.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers (sub-processors) that host our infrastructure, process payments (Mollie), send email, validate email addresses, and provide AI processing — under contracts that require appropriate safeguards;
- Other users, only where you choose to use features such as compatibility reports or referrals, and only to the extent necessary for that feature;
- Legal & safety: where required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety;
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
6. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Service and, where permitted, analytics and preference cookies to understand usage and remember your settings. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function correctly without certain cookies.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 9).
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Data portability;
- Withdraw consent at any time;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (EU) or relevant regulator.
California residents: Under the CCPA/CPRA you have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise any right, email support@equiself.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where required, notify you.
